Members
RESPONSIBLE
Our members’ cat(s)/dog(s) must be microchipped, as it is a legal requirement in the UK, fully vaccinated and veterinary registered. Our members have cat(s)/dog(s) that are suited to their home and lifestyle. They provide appropriate food, water, shelter, health care and companionship. They do not leave their pets alone at home for long period of time during the day or night.
CONSIDERATE
Treat your guest pet(s) as you would like your pet(s) to be treated. Communicate well as a guest and host. Respond to messages timely. Communicate effectively the needs of your pet(s) so they can have the best experience.
OBSERVANT
Be fully aware of the advice given by the pet owner when the pet(s) is in your care.
BE PREPARED
When you are hosting a pet, prepare your home to welcome your guest. When your pet(s) is a guest, get their bedding, food and toys ready for your host. We recommend every member to attend our dog training partners programmes to be able to manage different situations with another member’s pet. When you are hosting another pet and you must leave your place, always consider separating the guest pet from the host pet.
HONEST
Provide accurate information about yourself, your pet(s) and guidance.
INTEGRITY
MyPetYourPet is about giving and receiving. Be as open about having a pet guest in your home as wanting to have your own pet hosted. No money exchange is allowed for hosting a pet - only MyPetYourPet Credits
Cats & Dogs
SOCIABLE
MyPetYourPet is about pet companionship. So, your pet must be sociable with other pets.
HOUSE TRAINED
All pets must be house trained.
BASIC OBEDIENCE
We suggest that all pets can respond to basic commands such as “sit, down, come and stay”.
PREPARED
Prior to hosting, introduce the host and guest pet to ensure they get on.
DOG TRAINING PARTNERS
TRAINING METHODS
All our dog training partners only use kind and force free techniques, such as lure reward training and no use of choke chains, prong collars or any physical force. Kinder methods are better for positive relationships with our pets which is very important!
